Odisha to release new excise policy by mid- April

Odisha’s Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan announced othat the state government will release the new Excise Policy for 2025-26 within the next 15 to 20 days.

He stated that the policy is in its final stages and will be implemented after Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's approval. To ensure smooth regulation, the existing excise policy has been extended for a month until the new framework comes into effect.

 The revised guidelines will introduce major regulatory changes aimed at strengthening the sector while balancing economic benefits and social responsibilities. The updated policy is expected to enhance transparency and operational efficiency, aligning with the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline excise management in the state.
