Maharashtra cuisine takes centre stage at New Delhi showcase
Maharashtra’s culinary heritage was highlighted as a tool of cultural exchange at Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi, where international chefs and foreign delegates were introduced to the state’s traditional cuisine through a curated showcase organised under the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA).
The event featured authentic Maharashtrian dishes reflecting the state’s agricultural roots and regional diversity. Chefs and diplomats from over 30 countries experienced the simplicity, balance of flavours, and traditional techniques that define the cuisine.
Speaking on the occasion, an IFCA representative stated,“Indian regional cuisine is one of our strongest cultural assets. Through this showcase, Maharashtra’s food traditions were presented not just as dishes, but as stories of land, season, and community. Such initiatives strengthen India’s culinary presence on the globe stage.”
The showcase underlined the growing role of regional food in hospitality, tourism promotion, and cultural diplomacy, positioning Maharashtra as a strong culinary destination while reinforcing IFCA’s efforts to promote Indian cuisine on the global stage.
