Allied Blenders and Distillers (ABD) announced on Friday that its board has approved the acquisition of a non-operational distillery and bottling facility in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh, marking a strategic expansion move for the company.

The assets, comprising land and machinery, will be acquired from National Industrial Corporation for a consideration of up to ₹70 crore, inclusive of statutory levies and charges. The transaction is expected to be completed by July 31, 2026.

In addition to the acquisition cost, ABD plans to invest up to ₹40 crore towards upgrading ground infrastructure and setting up a bottling unit at the facility. The total investment related to the project will aggregate to ₹110 crore, according to regulatory disclosures.

The facility has an adequate land parcel to support future expansion. The company expects the upgrades to be completed within 12 months of the acquisition.

Once operational, the facility is expected to enhance ABD’s Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) bottling capacity in Uttar Pradesh. It will also enable the company to expand distillery operations over time, supporting greater backward integration and increasing captive consumption of extra neutral alcohol (ENA).
