Asgard Alcobev acquires majority stake in CMJ Breweries

Asgard Alcobev has completed the acquisition of 78.90 percent equity share capital in CMJ Breweries, marking a significant step in its diversification strategy. The stake was acquired through a preferential issue to non-promoter shareholders of CMJ Breweries.

Following completion of the transaction, CMJ Breweries has become a subsidiary of Asgard Alcobev. Incorporated in 2007 and headquartered in Meghalaya, CMJ is recognised as the largest brewery in North-east India. The company is exclusively engaged in beer production and operates as a contract brewing partner for several leading Indian and international beer brands.

The acquisition strengthens Asgard Alcobev’s footprint in the fast growing North-east market and aligns with its long-term vision of sustainable value creation. The move is expected to enhance operational capabilities and expand the company’s presence in India’s beer segment while supporting its evolution into a diversified business group.
