Diageo India has introduced a refined new packaging for its premium Scotch whisky brand Black Dog Whisky, marking a modern evolution of a legacy that spans more than 140 years.

Diageo India has introduced a refined new packaging for its premium Scotch whisky brand Black Dog Whisky, marking a modern evolution of a legacy that spans more than 140 years. The redesign goes beyond a visual update, reflecting the brand’s effort to reinforce its character and invite consumers to slow down and savour the drinking experience.

Founded in 1883 by Sir Walter Millard, Black Dog was built on a philosophy that craftsmanship and patience create exceptional whisky. Over time, the Scotch label has established a strong presence in India, becoming associated with milestones, celebrations and meaningful moments for consumers.

The refreshed packaging introduces subtle “savour codes”, featuring refined detailing, premium cues and a cleaner visual identity. According to the company, the design has been crafted to resonate with a younger and evolving audience, while retaining the unmistakable identity of the Black Dog brand.

At the core of the redesign is the brand’s renewed expression, “Savour the Sip,” which encourages consumers to approach Scotch whisky as a deliberate and immersive ritual. The whisky is masterfully blended from select distilleries across Scotland, including the renowned Linkwood Distillery, and follows a three-cask maturation process that highlights craftsmanship and layered flavour.

Alongside the new packaging, the company has strengthened its premium portfolio with two key variants: Black Dog Black Reserve, a rich and rounded Scotch with malty depth and subtle oak and sherry sweetness, and Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve, a triple-cask matured expression offering smooth notes of oak, toffee and vanilla with a lingering finish.

As today’s consumers evolve seeking more meaning, more craft, and more intentional moments we wanted Black Dog to feel as relevant as it has always been. This refreshed packaging is our way of honouring the heritage while inviting a new generation to make it their own, so every sip becomes a moment worth savouring.”

The refreshed Black Dog Whisky portfolio will be launching soon across key markets including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Punjab, along with other markets across India.
