Carlsberg India has inaugurated a high-speed canning line at its Mysuru brewery, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion journey and reaffirming its long-term commitment to Karnataka. The development follows the ₹350 crore investment pledge announced by the brewer at Invest Karnataka 2025 to further scale up operations at the Mysuru facility.

The newly commissioned can line has been set up with an investment of ₹100 crore and has a production capacity of 22,000 cans per hour (CPH). With this addition, Carlsberg India has substantially strengthened its ability to cater to rising consumer demand, while aligning with its broader national growth strategy.

Inaugurating the facility, Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Yathindra Siddaramaiah said, “We appreciate Carlsberg India’s continued investments of ₹350 crore in Karnataka, particularly in Mysuru, and their impactful work that contributes positively to society. These efforts reflect the company’s strong confidence in the state’s industrial ecosystem. We encourage more companies to step forward with increased local investments and job creation, especially in Mysuru, to support inclusive and sustainable regional development.”

Commenting on the development, Nilesh Patel, Managing Director, Carlsberg India, said, “Our continued investment in Karnataka underscores our long-term commitment to the state. Through this expansion, we aim to sustainably produce international-quality beers for consumers, contribute to state excise revenues, and generate additional direct and indirect employment opportunities for the local community.”

Located in Nanjangud, the Mysuru brewery spans 28 acres and manufactures the company’s flagship Carlsberg and Tuborg brands. The facility is also a showcase of Carlsberg India’s focus on responsible and sustainable brewing. It operates biomass boilers powered by husk and biogas, while nearly 85 percent of its energy requirements are met through solar power.

Beyond manufacturing, Carlsberg India is actively involved in water sustainability initiatives across Karnataka. The company works in partnership with WaterAid and local communities to promote responsible water stewardship, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability alongside industrial growth.
