Greater Than Gin expands presence across domestic & international markets

Nao Spirits & Beverages has announced the expanded presence of its flagship brand Greater Than across 17 cities in India and 12 international markets, including the United Kingdom, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Thailand, strengthening the brand’s footprint both domestically and globally.

Launched in 2017 at a time when Indian craft gin was largely absent from the market, Greater Than was developed as a clean, juniper-forward London Dry Gin designed to be versatile and easy to mix. Crafted using botanicals such as coriander seeds, fennel, lemongrass and ginger, the gin has positioned itself as a distinctive Indian expression without attempting to replicate or exoticise global counterparts. Its flavour profile has helped it gain popularity among bartenders while also becoming a staple for home consumption.

Over the years, the brand has earned 85 international accolades, including recognition from The Gin Guide and the World Gin Awards. It has also been named among the “Top 8 Gin Distilleries of the World for 2025”.

“When we launched Greater Than in 2017, it came from a gap we noticed: there was no Indian craft gin that bartenders could work with. Today, seeing it across markets in India and internationally shows how far Indian gin has come, whether that’s in a neighbourhood bar in Goa, a cocktail bar in Singapore, army canteens across India, or on a backbar in the United Kingdom,” says Anand Virmani, Co-founder, Nao Spirits.

The brand has further expanded its portfolio through experimental releases such as Juniper Bomb (2020), No Sleep (2021), Broken Bat (2022) and Punk Gin (2024).
