Suntory unveils first permanent boutique at Hong Kong

Suntory Global Spirits has elevated the luxury travel retail experience with the launch of the first permanent House of Suntory shop-in-shop at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). The boutique was developed in partnership with Duty Zero by cdf under China Duty Free Group (CDFG).

Located in Terminal 1 Departures, East Hall North, the premium 30-square-metre space marks the first-ever collaboration between The House of Suntory and Duty Zero by cdf. The opening underscores a shared ambition to redefine luxury travel retail while reinforcing The House of Suntory’s leadership in the Japanese whisky category.

The boutique showcases the House’s most prestigious Japanese whiskies, including Hibiki, Yamazaki, Hakushu and Toki, alongside premium white spirit Roku. Designed to immerse travellers in a world of Japanese craftsmanship and contemporary luxury, the space blends natural materials with modern lines. Translucent Washi screens cast a warm glow, while wooden lattices inspired by Kigumi craftsmanship create architectural harmony.

A striking installation at the entrance highlights limited editions and innovations, setting a collectors-first tone. Inside, a circular feature wall inspired by traditional Marumado windows frames flagship expressions in a gallery-style presentation.

The experience is anchored by a dedicated tasting bar, where Brand Ambassadors curate tailored whisky journeys. The “Beatification of Time” concept spotlights rare, aged and high-value releases, offering connoisseurs the opportunity to explore expressions shaped by decades of mastery. An adjoining Art of Japanese Gifting zone further enhances the immersive retail journey.
