ABD launches Golden Mist French Brandy
Allied Blenders and Distillers (ABD) has launched a new brandy, Golden Mist in Karnataka, marking its entry into the fast-growing prestige brandy category. The product combines elements of French brandy-making techniques with Indian blending expertise and is positioned to attract consumers seeking more refined drinking experiences.
Golden Mist is aged in French oak casks and features a deep amber colour, a smooth texture, and a flavour profile described as balancing grape notes with hints of liquorice, honey, and spice. According to the company, the brand is targeted at modern consumers who value tradition along with sophistication in their beverage choices.
The launch also adds to ABD’s portfolio of non-whisky premium offerings, a segment the company has been focusing on as part of its diversification strategy. Golden Mist is aimed to strengthen ABD’s presence in the prestige spirits segment, which has been witnessing steady growth.
In addition to standard glass packaging, Golden Mist will be available in a newly introduced 180 ml “Hippy pack,” designed in a gold finish.
Speaking at the launch, Alok Gupta, Managing Director of ABD, said the company aimed to combine heritage and authenticity with a superior taste experience. He added that the product draws from traditional French methods while being tailored to suit Indian palates, and aligns with the company’s broader goal of expanding its footprint in the Prestige and Above segment.
Golden Mist will be sold in four pack sizes across Karnataka. The 750 ml bottle is priced at Rs 970, the 375 ml at Rs 485, the 180 ml (in both glass and Hippy pack) at Rs 235, and the 90 ml at Rs 120.
