Blue Ocean Beverages has unveiled Kama Kaapi Rum, a spirit that blends the soulful depth of coffee and the smooth richness of rum.

Crafted in small batches, the rum originates from Chikmagalur, the birthplace of Indian coffee. At 1,040 metres above sea level, rare AAA-grade Arabica beans are cultivated in red earth, nurtured by monsoon rains and cool mountain air. These beans are roasted to a medium-dark profile, cold-brewed to capture their earthy and woody notes, and infused into cane and molasses spirits to produce a rum layered with flavours of chocolate, nuts and caramel.

Each batch produces only 1,296 hand-numbered bottles, making every sip a part of a rare story. The name itself reflects its essence. “Kama” means passion, while “Kaapi” translates to coffee; together they symbolise a spirit that honours heritage while inviting discovery.

Launching the new spirit, the company in a statement said, “India has always had a love story with coffee, and rum has been a celebratory spirit across generations. With Kama Kaapi Rum, we’ve brought these two worlds together. It’s not just a drink; it’s an experience, one that captures India’s essence in every pour.”

On the nose, Kama Kaapi Rum opens with the inviting aroma of medium-dark roasted coffee, layered with earthy depth and woody accents from its Chikmagalur origin. The palate reveals indulgent chocolate tones balanced by delicate nutty undertones, creating a smooth and harmonious taste. The finish lingers with earthy and woody notes, leaving a deep, satisfying impression.

Kama Kaapi Rum is available in Goa, Bengaluru and Delhi at ₹1,200, ₹2,405 and ₹1,640, respectively.
