Bruichladdich launches GTR exclusive Black Art Sapero

Rémy Cointreau-owned Bruichladdich Distillery Company has introduced Black Art Sapero, a global travel retail exclusive single malt Scotch whisky and the first release in a new multi-part series to be expanded annually.

The debut expression is rolling out this month at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4, in partnership with Lotte Duty Free Singapore. The one-month exclusive listing began on November 4, with the activation running through the end of December.

Crafted from rare and limited stocks within the distillery’s extensive inventory, Black Art Sapero represents what the brand calls a “profound and inexplicable marriage of spirit, cask and time.” The whisky is aged for 19 years, bottled at 47.8 percent ABV and matured entirely on Islay in undisclosed cask types resting deep within Bruichladdich’s warehouses.

Designed with flavour as its central focus, the whisky opens with dark chocolate on the nose, lifted by citrus orange zest and a touch of black cherry. The palate brings malted barley, maple syrup and caramelised brown sugar, layered with subtle spice and a gentle mineral note.

Relying on instinct and experimenting with some of our rarest casks, every decision was guided beyond logic or rule. The result is something truly enigmatic, an unforgettable whisky that invites you to taste, question and ultimately trust in the mystery.”

The Black Art series first launched in 2012 and now Black Art Sapero marks the start of a new era, with all future editions to be released exclusively through global travel retail. The next chapters, Black Art Propheta and Black Art Empresse, are scheduled for release in November 2026 and November 2027, respectively.

Following its launch at Changi Airport, Black Art Sapero will reach selected travel retail locations worldwide beginning December 2025.
