Heaven Hill unveils 13 YO Deatsville Bourbon

Heaven Hill Brands has introduced a limited edition 13-Year-Old Deatsville Bourbon, commemorating one of the most distinctive ageing campuses in its portfolio. The Kentucky-based distiller sourced the release entirely from its Deatsville site, part of its operations since the early 1980s and formerly home to the historic T.W. Samuels Distillery. Today, the campus houses nine rickhouses with a capacity of approximately 167,000 barrels.

The Deatsville campus is the only Heaven Hill ageing site designed with tiered-roof architecture, promoting a natural airflow system that creates subtle maturation variations. Barrels from the location have historically contributed to several core expressions and past editions of the Parker's Heritage Collection. As part of long-term ageing stewardship plans, the rickhouses will transition to regauge-only status over the next two years.

The new expression was distilled using a mash bill of 78 percent corn, 10 percent rye and 12 percent malted barley. Bottled at 54.5 percent ABV, the Bourbon will retail for US$199.99 and will be available exclusively through the Deatsville Tour & Tasting experience from 15 March.
