Idaaya Rum launched in Haryana

Those Good Distillerss has launched their multi-award-winning Himalayan sipping rum, Idaaya, in Haryana, stepping beyond travel retail.

Born from ancient Indian wisdom and inspired by the mystique of the Himalayas, Idaaya reflects craftsmanship, sustainability and the joy of shared moments, advocating the philosophy of mindful drinking of less but better.

“With our arrival in Gurgaon, we are making this Himalayan sipping rum more accessible to discerning drinkers who seek authenticity and balance in what they choose to pour. It is distinct, unpretentious and elevated; just as the Himalayas inspire it to be,” said Karishma Manga Bedi, Founder and CEO of Those Good Distillerss.

Idaaya derives its name from the Sanskrit word “Ida”, meaning the mystic energy and “Himalaya”, symbolising the spirit’s connection to the mountains. “The creation of Idaaya is inspired by Sanskrit texts of ‘Arthashastra’, where in the forgotten pages of our ancient scriptures, a drink was made by fermenting and distillation of sugarcane juice,” added Karishma.

Blended by Master Blender Chris Armes, Idaaya derives its unique character from 12-year-old rum aged in bourbon casks and pure Indian rum, blended in a Solera system in sal wood casks, whilst using ancient methodologies that adds to the depth of flavour, with rich aromas to nose.  The high-altitude climate, crisp cool air and snow-capped spring water of the Himalayas are intrinsic to the character of the rum.

Since its debut, Idaaya has been embraced by the global spirits community, earning a trail of prestigious accolades that underscore its world-class quality, including double gold at the International SIP Awards 2024, another gold at International Spirits Challenge 2024 and The Rum & Cachaça Masters 2025, a silver medal at The Asian Spirits Masters 2024 and bronze at International Wine & Spirits Competition 2024.

On the nose, Idaaya reveals smooth notes of caramel, vanilla and spice, unfolding into toasted oak and ripe fruits such as raisins and plum. The palate carries delicious notes of dark chocolate and toffee, with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper, culminating in a long, warm finish reminiscent of the Himalayas themselves.

Whether sipped neat, on the rocks or paired with a burnt orange twist, the rum is crafted for those who like ‘Keep Seeking’. The 750 ml bottle is priced at approximately ₹ 7,000 in Gurugram.
