Johnnie Walker launches Black Cask Whisky

Johnnie Walker has unveiled Johnnie Walker Black Cask, a new permanent blended Scotch whisky expression aged exclusively in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels. The launch brings together the sweetness and vanilla-led character of American whiskey with the depth and structure of Scotch, delivering a fresh yet unmistakably Johnnie Walker profile.

Crafted under the direction of Master Blender Emma Walker, Black Cask draws on some of the brightest whiskies at the heart of the iconic Johnnie Walker Black Label. Specially selected malts and grains, including those from Cameronbridge Distillery, Glen Elgin Distillery and Roseisle Distillery, are matured solely in ex-bourbon casks. The result is a layered flavour profile marked by creamy vanilla sweetness, rich caramel notes, gentle spice and a smooth oak warmth.

According to Emma, the expression reflects the brand’s more than 200-year heritage of shaping global whisky culture while continuing to innovate for evolving tastes. Designed to appeal to drinkers who enjoy both Scotch and American whiskey styles, Black Cask is positioned as approachable yet complex. It can be enjoyed neat or over ice and is crafted to add depth and balance to classic cocktails such as the Old Fashioned and the Gold Rush.

Johnnie Walker Black Cask will be available across the United States from March 1, 2026, at a suggested retail price of $34.99 for a 750ml bottle at 43 percent  ABV, and will remain a permanent addition to the portfolio.
