Kanosuke Distillery unveils Single Malt 2026

Japan-based Kanosuke Distillery has launched Kanosuke Single Malt 2026 Limited Edition, featuring a distinctive cask finish using apple brandy and white wine barrels.

The expression draws inspiration from springtime at Fukiagehama, the expansive beach beside Kanosuke Distillery and one of Japan’s longest dune systems, known during the season for the fresh, spicy aroma of the Hamago flower.

The whisky is crafted from single malt distilled in Kanosuke’s three pot stills and matured across a diverse range of casks. Primary maturation took place in ex-shochu casks, sherry casks, bourbon barrels and red wine casks, followed by an extended finishing phase designed to enhance brightness and elegance.

Whiskies matured in bourbon barrels were finished in apple brandy casks, while those from ex-shochu recharred casks were finished in white wine barrels. These two components form the core of the flavour profile, adding depth, freshness and complexity to the final expression.

Kanosuke Single Malt 2026 is available via the distillery’s online shop in Japan at ¥24,850.
