Misaka Whisky launches at Muscat Duty Free

Premium Japanese whisky brand Misaka has marked its Middle East debut with a launch at Muscat Duty Free. The rollout brings together Platinum Liquids, B&S Dubai and Global Drinks Ltd., the brand owner. Misaka was launched in 2024 by Hong Kong entrepreneur Harry Kartasis, Founder of Global Drinks Ltd., and is now accelerating its expansion in global travel retail.

The Muscat listing strengthens Misaka’s growing duty free footprint, following recent entries into Tappoo Duty Free in Fiji and Eraman in Malaysia. Announcing the launch, Gaurav Joshi, Founder of Platinum Liquids, described it as a significant milestone for the brand’s Middle East travel retail expansion.

The brand draws inspiration from Japan’s Misaka Mountain range in Yamanashi Prefecture, located between Fujikawaguchiko town and the cities of Kofu and Fuefuki. Misaka’s positioning reflects this natural heritage, highlighting pure water sources and a refined flavour profile rooted in Japanese craftsmanship.
