Piccadily launches peated single malt whisky

Piccadily Agro Industries Ltd. has unveiled Indri Agneya, a lightly peated single malt whisky crafted to add a bold and elegant dimension to the Indian whisky landscape.

Derived from the Sanskrit word, Agneya, meaning “belonging to fire,” the whisky is produced in the village of Indri in Haryana. Matured in both sherry and bourbon casks, this release distinguishes itself from the flagship Indri-Trini with its gentle smokiness, nutty aromas, ripe fruit notes, and a warm, rounded finish.

Commenting on the new expression, Surrinder Kumar, Master Blender at Piccadily Agro Industries, said, “We wanted to explore the untapped space between the familiar and the unexpected. Agneya introduces a new conversation, a whisky that hints at smoke and spice, while still retaining the warmth and complexity that defines Indri’s house style.”

Crafted from indigenous six-row barley and gently kilned over peat smoke, Agneya offers a subtle smokiness that appeals to those exploring smoky whiskies without the intensity of traditional Islay malts.

Indri Agneya is currently available across select outlets in Haryana at ₹3,800 and is slated to be launched in other states as well as in international markets and duty-free in the coming months.
