Saudi Tourism Authority launches The Saudi Table in Delhi

The Saudi Tourism Authority’s consumer brand ‘Saudi, Welcome to Arabia’ is set to transport Indian diners to the heart of Saudi gastronomy with The Saudi Table, a limited-edition culinary residency at One8 Commune, Gurugram. Curated by celebrated chef Kunal Kapur, the residency promises an immersive exploration of Saudi’s evolving food culture from December 12-17.

The Saudi Table is inspired by centuries of Indo-Arabic cultural exchange when spices, grains and culinary knowledge were linked through maritime trade. Drawing upon this heritage, the menu reflects contemporary dining identity where guests can encounter grazing tables laden with fresh salads and mezze, featuring Gulf-grown za’atar, pomegranate molasses, Madinah dates, saffron and regionally prized herbs. Small plates will highlight street and home-cooked favourites, from grilled halloumi and aubergine to stuffed chicken wings, spiced lamb koftas and Gulf-style seafood. Large plates, including kabsa, mansaf and saffron rice with seafood, will echo ceremonial traditions, while desserts such as rose and pistachio panna cotta, date and almond confections and warm kunafa will provide a fragrant and subtly perfumed conclusion.

The residency at One8 Commune is also structured to reflect Saudi dining culture: unhurried, communal and layered with meaning. Designed to encourage conversation and discovery, guests may sit, stand or mingle as they explore the menu. Beyond the flavours, the residency will also provide a narrative of Saudi’s evolving culinary identity, highlighting its contemporary chefs, modern dining interpretations and regional diversity, from the Hijaz coast to inland trade cities.

The experience is not merely about taste; it is a gateway to understanding Saudi as a multidimensional destination, where centuries of trade, migration and cultural exchange, particularly with India, have shaped its cuisine, markets and hospitality. The public showcase can be accessed through District by Zomato.
