Suntory Whisky Toki launches Toki Black in GTR
Suntory Whisky Toki has unveiled Toki Black, its first limited-edition, debuting in Global Travel Retail and select retail markets worldwide. Available at Delhi Duty Free, Ospree Duty Free and select Indian airports, the new expression blends Japanese tradition and innovation.
Crafted with Hakushu heavily peated malt and grain, Toki Black delivers a softly smoky profile. The launch is accompanied by a creative collaboration featuring grammy-nominated producer Terrace Martin and Japanese jazz artist Ryota Nozaki, known as Jazztronik.
“As our first release in nearly a decade, Toki Black marks a significant milestone for both Toki and The House of Suntory,” said Masaki Morimoto, President of The House of Suntory. “The name ‘Toki,’ meaning ‘time’ represents a deep part of Japanese culture, where reverence for tradition meets bold innovation. This limited-edition launch reflects that philosophy, offering a contemporary expression that honours our heritage while engaging a new generation of whisky enthusiasts.”
Originally designed as an approachable introduction to Japanese whisky, Toki Black evolves the brand’s hallmark smoothness with layered aromas of baked apple and honeysuckle, balanced by butterscotch sweetness, clove, cinnamon and gentle smoke.
Toki Black (86 proof) is available at Delhi and Mumbai airports for a limited period in one-litre channel-exclusive bottles. In Singapore, Dubai, South Korea, London, Sydney, Melbourne, Doha, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Kuala Lumpur and Paris, the roll-out will be supported by a series of activations.
“Today’s travellers are looking for fresh and creative experiences. Toki Black is our way of inviting both existing and new consumers to explore the brand through a richer, bolder flavour that deepens their connection with the Toki brand,” said Senior Marketing Director Nandini Valio.
