Tomatin releases Lunar New Year exclusive Single Malt

Tomatin has introduced a very special limited release Tomatin Year of the Horse 2026, a rare single cask created to celebrate the Year of the Horse. This exclusive release is the brand’s way of honouring Lunar New Year traditions while showcasing the elegance and depth of Tomatin single malt whisky.

It  is a distinctive 2011 vintage single malt, drawn from a single cask and matured exclusively in a first fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butt. This remarkable cask, known as a bota gorda, is larger than a traditional sherry butt and was sourced directly from a historic bodega in Jerez, southern Spain, bringing with it a deep sense of place and provenance.

Having spent time in a sherry solera, the Pedro Ximénez cask brings luxurious richness and depth, while its generous size allows the elegant fruit character of our Highland spirit to shine through. The result is a beautifully balanced single malt – rich yet refined, expressive yet unmistakably Tomatin.

Bottled non-chill filtered and at natural colour, the Year of the Horse 2026 is presented in a signature Tomatin bottle, adorned with ornate red artwork created especially for this release.
