Unusual Spirits launches Goa Dark Rum Liqueur

Unusual Spirits has unveiled Goa Dark, a spiced rum liqueur crafted with Indian botanicals and rooted in Goan cultural heritage. This marks the brand’s third liqueur launch within its first year, underscoring its rapid expansion in the Indian spirits market.

Goa Dark is positioned as a bold, flavour-forward rum liqueur, blending the sweetness of jaggery spirit with the warmth of signature spices. The expression features a layered mix of citrus, ginger, star anise, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice and cloves, creating what the brand describes as an exotic and indulgent profile designed to “stir the soul.”

Staying true to its storytelling-driven approach, Unusual Spirits draws inspiration from Goan mythology for the new release. The bottle’s label showcases Narkasur, the iconic demon king from regional folklore whose defeat is celebrated during the Festival of Lights. Each year, large papier-mâché effigies of Narkasur are displayed and paraded across Goa, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness.

With Goa Dark, Unusual Spirits aims to honour this cultural legacy while offering consumers a distinctive spiced rum liqueur that blends tradition, flavour and a touch of the brand’s signature irreverence.
