Uppal Brewers & Distillers launches ‘Madhvan’ Whisky

Uppal Brewers & Distillers (UBD) has unveiled Madhvan, a distinctive blend of Indian grain spirits and fine Scotch malt whisky. The launch comes less than eight months after the debut of its first label, Soorahi, marking UBD’s rapid rise in India’s booming premium whisky segment.

Kanhav Uppal, Co-Owner

Kanhav Uppal, Co-Owner, UBD, said, “We founded Uppal Brewers & Distillers with the vision to create coveted, premium-only brands that put Indian spirits on the global stage. With Madhvan, we build on the strong consumer response to Soorahi and expand our presence in the fastest-growing alco-bev category. We’re confident that its craftsmanship, character, and cultural relevance will redefine what Indian-made can stand for.”

Ankur Sachdeva, Co-Founder & CEO, UBD, added

Ankur Sachdeva, Co-Founder & CEO, UBD, added, “The Indian whisky connoisseur today seeks more than just a drink—they want identity, ambition, and Indianness. Madhvan achieves that. Every element, from the liquid to the pack design, is bold and distinctive. With this addition, we gain access to a market four to five times larger than Soorahi’s.”

Crafted by Master Blender Prabhat Barik, Madhvan opens with inviting aromas of ripe pear, tropical fruit, and soft florals, unfolding into layers of toffee, honey, and vanilla, with a clean, medium-bodied finish of oak and lingering warmth.

UBD’s Brand Evangelist Ankur Chawla

UBD’s Brand Evangelist Ankur Chawla, commented, “In India’s fast-evolving whisky landscape, consumers value experiences as much as the liquid itself. Madhvan delivers both, a premium, layered blend and a brand story that resonates with consumer ambition and individuality.”

Bottled at 42.8 percent ABV in 750ml packs, it is priced at Rs 990 and is now available in Delhi and Punjab, with rollout to additional markets planned by year-end.
