AB InBev to set up 1k cr beer plant in UP

AB InBev, the makers of Budweiser beer, will establish a manufacturing plant in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida. The company pledged Rs. 1,000 crore as investment for the project at the ongoing World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, an official spokesperson said on Tuesday.

AB InBev, the makers of Budweiser beer, will establish a manufacturing plant in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida. The company pledged Rs. 1,000 crore as investment for the project at the ongoing World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, an official spokesperson said on Tuesday.

“An MoU in this regard was signed between chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Kartikeya Sharma, president, India affairs, AB InBev. Prime land has already been identified for the project, including 36 hectares in Sector 24, YEIDA, and 1,000 hectares currently under acquisition,” the spokesperson added.

Headquartered in Belgium, AB InBev is a global beverage company renowned for its iconic beer brands such as Budweiser, Corona, and Stella Artois.

“With operations in over 50 countries and a presence in more than 100 markets worldwide, AB InBev’s decision to invest in Uttar Pradesh marks a significant milestone in the state’s industrial and economic development. It is expected to generate significant economic benefits for Uttar Pradesh, including job creation, skill development, and increased utilisation of the state’s enhanced logistics and transportation infrastructure,” he added.

Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Chirag PaswanAdditionally, the company has planned to expand to Maharashtra and Southern India states in the next two to three years, announced Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Chirag Paswan. “Investments have been happening in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and various parts of South India. In different states, they will be signing their MoUs in due course of time,” said Union Minister.

Highlighting the importance of this investment, the Minister said on X, “This will write a new chapter of job creation and economic progress. It is a symbol of growing opportunities in India and the confidence of global companies in our country.”
