The AlcoBev India 2025 conference, jointly organised by the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies (CIABC) and APEDA, brought together stakeholders from across the alcoholic beverage value chain on Wednesday to highlight India’s ambitions to become a global player in the segment. The day-long event buzzed with industry insights, spirited conversations, and a shared vision of scaling India’s alcoholic beverage exports from $250 million to a bold $1 billion, aligning with the national “Make in India” mission.

The conclave highlighted critical growth levers, like the urgent need for taxation reforms, greater freedom of consumer communication, and the global promotion of India’s unique heritage spirits such as Mahua and Feni. Deepak Roy, Chairman of CIABC, passionately advocated for letting Indian brands tell their stories to consumers worldwide, stressing the cultural and economic value locked in these traditional spirits.

AlcoBev India 2025 conferenceCIABC Director General Anant S. Iyer emphasised that consistent state policies, logistics streamlining, and progressive regulations are essential to unlock this sector’s full potential. Panels were attended by a robust mix of excise commissioners, bureaucrats, subject-matter experts, and business leaders who shared their vision for making Indian alcobev products globally competitive.

Major players, including Radico Khaitan Ltd., Allied Blenders & Distillers, Sula Vineyards, Piccadily Distillery, Alcobrew Distilleries India, and many others, showcased their latest innovations—from premium liquids to pioneering packaging. The event also welcomed solution providers from the packaging, labelling, closures, and logistics sectors, creating a holistic view of the industry's evolving ecosystem.

Capping the day was a vibrant cultural performance, sponsored by Radico Khaitan, adding a celebratory note to an otherwise business-centric gathering, a fitting end to an event that successfully blended tradition with ambition and policy with possibility.
