The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) has announced the launch of its first-ever East Asia Forum, set to take place in Hong Kong from December 3-4, 2025.
Following the successful reception of the APTRA India Conference and responding to growing interest from its member base, APTRA aims to focus attention on the eastern Asia-Pacific region during a time of geo-economic turbulence and shifting trade dynamics.
Sunil Tuli, President of APTRA and Group Chief Executive of King Power Group (Hong Kong), commented, “Following the popularity of the APTRA India conference and, in response to requests from several members, it is timely for us to shine the spotlight on the eastern region of Asia-Pacific. With significant geo-economic turbulence and trade shifts, it is an especially relevant time to help our members navigate these conditions and understand multiple dynamics, including the evolution of the Chinese consumer, the influence of emerging markets and the fact that tourism figures in the surrounding region are outpacing retail growth.”
Tuli added, “APTRA is on a mission to support our members and the wider industry through opportunities and through challenging times. As an organisation spanning over 45 markets, our intention is to continually build on the service we offer across the entire region by sharing insights, research and experience, coupled with valuable networking opportunities.”
The East Asia Forum will be open to the travel retail industry at large, with further details including speakers, themes, and registration expected to be announced in mid-June. In line with APTRA’s not-for-profit ethos, event tickets will be priced purely to cover costs.
