CCI approves Tilaknagar's acquisition of Imperial Blue

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved Tilaknagar Industries Ltd.’s proposal to acquire the Imperial Blue whisky business from Pernod Ricard India Pvt. Ltd.

Announced in July 2025, the transaction is valued at ₹4,150 crore and represents a significant expansion in Tilaknagar Industries’ Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) portfolio.

According to a statement from the regulator, the approval encompasses the acquisition of Pernod Ricard India’s business operations related to production, bottling, marketing and sale of alcoholic and other beverages under the Imperial Brands banner by Tilaknagar Industries.

The acquisition is poised to further strengthen Tilaknagar Industries’ presence in the country’s fast-growing whisky segment, enhancing its market share and competitive positioning in the premium IMFL category.
