Diageo refutes reports on sale of Guinness

Diageo has clarified that it has no plans to sell its stake in LVMH’s Moët Hennessy and iconic beer brand, Guinness. “We note the recent media speculation around the Guinness brand and our stake in Moët Hennessy and we can confirm that we have no intention to sell either,” the company published the statement on January 26.

“We will next update the market with interim results on 4 February 2025 and we look forward to hosting our Guinness investor and analyst day on 19/20 May 2025,” the statement further read.

Last week, many media reports claimed that Diageo was considering the sale or spinoff Guinness, as part of a strategic review of its portfolio and its stake in Moët Hennessy. The news had spurred a nearly 4 percent rise in Diageo’s share price.
