Gambero Rosso’s Wine Roadshow charms Mumbai

The Top Italian Wines Roadshow by Gambero Rosso, Italy’s prominent food and wine magazine and the publisher of the internationally renowned Vini d'Italia guide, made a grand return to Mumbai on 23rd May 2025, captivating the city’s wine professionals and enthusiasts with an exceptional showcase of Italian winemaking excellence. Hosted at the Jio World Convention Centre, the event brought together over 50 renowned Italian wine producers and attracted more than 323 participants, including importers, distributors, sommeliers, hoteliers, educators, and retailers.

The day began with an elegant inaugural ceremony attended by notable dignitaries such as Luigi Salerno, Marco Sabellico, and Walter Ferrara, alongside representatives from Consorzio Prosecco DOC, setting the tone for a day of discovery and celebration.

On the successful conclusion of the event, Marco Sabellico, Editor-in-Chief of the Vini d’Italia guide, said, “Our successful return to India, marked by over 323 attendees, signals a new era of wine appreciation and knowledge among Indian professionals and connoisseurs. The event celebrated the timeless legacy of Italian winemaking while opening new doors for partnership and growth.”

The occasion also featured the prestigious Top Italian Restaurants Awards Ceremony, honouring standout Italian dining establishments in India like Celini, CinCin, and Cecconi’s. The exhibition space buzzed with activity as exhibitors presented over 100 premium wine labels, offering attendees the opportunity to explore and engage with Italy’s diverse wine regions.

Four curated masterclasses took guests on a journey across Italy, from the sparkling finesse of Prosecco DOC to the bold character of southern varietals like Primitivo and wines from Mount Etna. Each session offered insights into regional terroirs and perfect food pairings, particularly with Indian cuisine.

With strong participation and enthusiastic feedback from exhibitors and guests alike, the Mumbai edition of the Top Italian Wines Roadshow successfully reinforced cultural ties, expanded business opportunities, and elevated the appreciation of Italian wines within India’s rapidly evolving wine landscape.
