GMR takes over Delhi Duty Free operations

GMR Airports Ltd. (GAL) has officially taken over the operations of duty-free shops at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) from July 28. The development marks the end of the longstanding joint venture with Aer Rianta International (ARI), which previously operated the retail concessions through a partnership with Delhi International Airport Ltd. (DIAL) and GMR.

Previously managed under the entity Delhi Duty Free, jointly held by DIAL, ARI’s subsidiary Yalorvin Ltd., and GAL, the transition follows GMR’s announcement to Indian stock exchanges on August 21, 2024, stating that it had been selected to develop, operate, manage, and maintain the duty-free operations at India’s busiest airport.

GMR Group already operates duty-free outlets at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, which it is to fully take over in Q2 of FY26, Dabolim Airport in Goa, and Kannur International Airport in Kannur.
