Godawan Artisanal Indian Single Malt wins 2 silver

Godawan Artisanal Indian Single Malt Whisky’s Godawan 01 Rich and Rounded and Godawan 02 Fruit and Spice have won two silver medals at the inaugural 2025 Whiskey Wash Awards. This comes right after the brand was honoured at the 2025 Superior Taste Awards, with 3 and 2 stars. 

The inaugural Whiskey Wash edition evaluated over 300 expressions to identify the best in class and Godawan became the only Indian single malt whisky to receive recognition, reinforcing its position as a global contender in the single malt category. 

Building on this success, Godawan achieved further recognition at the Superior Taste Awards 2025, an esteemed certification by the International Taste Institute. While Godawan 01 Rich and Rounded received 3 stars as an Exceptional Product, Godawan 02 Fruit and Spice got 2 stars as Remarkable Product. 

This was the first accolade for the limited edition exclusive to Taj, which was launched in July 2024. The small-batch release of 300 bottles was meticulously crafted to celebrate the artistry and dedication that define both Godawan and the Palaces of Taj, as well as their joint commitment to conservation and sustainability. 

Speaking on the achievement, Vikram Damodaran, Chief Innovation Officer of Diageo India, said, “We’re starting 2025 on a high note with these incredible wins—a testament to the passion and craftsmanship behind Godawan. Seeing our limited edition achieve such prestigious recognition within just a few months of its launch is truly remarkable. Crafted in Rajasthan, Godawan embodies the rich heritage of Indian single malts, offering an exquisite range that caters to diverse palates—from Light and Floral, Fruity and Spicy, Rich and Rounded, to Full bodied and Smoky. It achieves this by crafting a mother liquid that is flexible enough to manifest itself across each flavour profile. Godawan 01 Rich and Rounded presents notes of dried fruits, caramel, and baklava-like butteriness, while Godawan 02 Fruit and Spice delivers a palate of rich fruit, floral notes, and a touch of roasted coffee beans.
