Godawan wins double gold at Monde Selection 2025

Godawan Artisanal Indian Single Malt Whisky has clinched two gold medals at the prestigious 2025 Monde Selection Quality Awards, one each for its expressions, Godawan 01 Rich & Rounded and Godawan 02 Fruit & Spice. This dual win reaffirms Godawan’s standing as India’s most awarded single malt, with over 90 accolades nationally and internationally.

Monde Selection evaluates entries on a multi-dimensional scale, assessing flavour, aroma, craftsmanship, authenticity, and purpose. Godawan’s continued success at such platforms showcases that Indian whiskies are now confidently competing with, and even redefining, global standards. “Godawan joins the ranks of the world’s most distinguished spirits, reinforcing United Spirits’ commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability,” said a representative from the Monde Selection Board.

Crafted in the arid terrains of Alwar in Rajasthan, Godawan reflects a rich sense of place and purpose. Named after the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard, the whisky is an ode to mindful luxury, blending six-row barley, Indian botanicals, and a desert-influenced maturation that delivers deep character and complexity.

Commenting on the recognition, Vikram Damodaran, Chief Innovation Officer, Diageo India, said, “This growing global momentum reaffirms our belief that India is not only crafting world-class whisky, but doing so with a distinctive identity, rooted in provenance, craft, and purpose.”

Godawan has also launched a travel retail edition, now available in duty-free stores in Bengaluru and Dubai, signalling its international ambitions.
