High Noon recalls mislabelled vodka seltzer cans
High Noon has recalled certain vodka seltzer drinks after some cans were mistakenly labelled as Celsius energy drinks. In a notice posted on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website, the California-based company said some High Noon Beach Variety packs were mislabelled as Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink, Sparkling Blue Razz Edition but were actually filled with alcoholic seltzer.
The company warned that consumption of these cans could lead to unintentional alcohol ingestion. No illnesses or adverse events have been reported so far.
The recall affects two specific lots: 12-pack High Noon Beach Variety packs containing nearly 30 ml cans with the UPC code 085000040065, and cans labelled as Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink, Sparkling Blue Razz Edition with the UPC code 889392001341. High Noon explained that a shared packaging supplier had mistakenly sent them Celsius-branded empty cans, which were then filled with vodka seltzer.
The mislabelled products were shipped to distributors in Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin between July 21 and 23, and reached retailers in six of those states. High Noon emphasised that consumers should dispose of the mislabelled cans and avoid consumption. Cans with unaffected lot codes remain safe to drink.
The company said it is working closely with the FDA, distributors, and retailers to manage the recall effectively and ensure consumer safety.
