IHM Ranchi hosts exchange programme ‘BridgeX’
The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Ranchi successfully organized BridgeX, a six-day Academic, Cultural, and Culinary Exchange Programme with IHM Guwahati from August 21–27, 2025. Held under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism and the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), the initiative aimed to promote cultural integration, knowledge-sharing, and academic collaboration between the two institutes.
Students from Guwahati explored Jharkhand’s tribal dances, handicrafts, and tourist sites, while also attending classes at IHM Ranchi and presenting Assam’s regional cuisines and traditions. The programme included a culinary masterclass on regional dishes, interactive academic sessions, and Spardha, an inter-institute sports and cultural competition. Visits to Patratu Dam, Palani Waterfall, and The Open Field Farm enriched the exchange with insights into local cuisine, organic farming, and entrepreneurship.
The closing ceremony on August 27 featured student performances, feedback sessions, and certificate distribution.
Praising the initiative, IHM Ranchi Principal Dr. Bhupesh Kumar said, “This programme goes beyond cultural and culinary exchange. It builds long-term academic bridges while enhancing cultural sensitivity, teamwork, and industry skills among students.”
With 25 participants, including students and faculty from both institutes, BridgeX successfully fostered collaboration, innovation, and experiential learning in hospitality education.
