IHM Ranchi hosts IndiaA Skills Competition 2025

The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Ranchi successfully hosted the India Skills Competition 2025, providing a vibrant platform for students to demonstrate exceptional talent and technical expertise across key hospitality trades. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across departments, with events spanning Floristry, Bakery, Cookery, Restaurant Service and Hotel Reception.

The initiative aimed to connect students with skill-based competitive exposure while identifying high-performing talent for progression to higher competitive levels. Participants impressed the jury with their creativity, precision and professionalism, reflecting the strong academic and practical training imparted at the institute.

In Restaurant Service, Sahil Khan secured first place, followed by Anupam Chaudhary in second position and Raj Ranjan Kumar in third. The Cookery category saw a joint first awarded to Ayushi Shrestha Mehta and Harsh Ravindran, while Sweta Kumari finished second and Harsh Verma along with Sridhar Prasad shared the third place.

In Floristry, Sonam Kumari claimed the top honour, K. Tanishka Rao secured second place and Amrit Horo finished third. Aditya Kumar Singh emerged winner in the Hotel Reception category. In Bakery, Nitin Sanga took the first place, with Mahi Priya Lohra and Payal Nandi securing second and third positions, respectively.

The Zonal round of the competition will be held shortly, the winners of which will advance to the National round, with the opportunity to represent India at the International Competition in Shanghai, China.

Addressing the occasion, Dr. Bhupesh Kumar, Principal, IHM Ranchi, stated that such competitions not only encourage a healthy sense of competitiveness among students but also strengthen their professional capabilities. He added that the event has served as a significant platform for the students, preparing them to showcase their talent at the national stage and beyond.
