The International Spirits and Wines Association of India (ISWAI) has rolled out its ‘Never Drink and Drive’ (NDAD) campaign in Chandigarh, following the successful launch of the initiative in Lucknow earlier this year. With one of the highest vehicle-to-population ratios in the country and significant daily interstate traffic from Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh has been identified as a critical location for reinforcing road safety awareness.

Through this initiative, ISWAI aims to address public safety concerns by creating awareness, educating citizens and encouraging behavioural change. The campaign highlights the urgent need for sustained focus on responsible consumption and safer roads, especially in high-traffic urban centres such as Chandigarh.

Speaking on Chandigarh launch and expansion of the campaign, Sanjit Padhi, CEO, ISWAI, said, “At ISWAI, we invest in public education, promoting moderation and responsible alcohol consumption. The ‘Never Drink and Drive’ campaign reinforces our commitment to fostering a responsible drinking culture, enhancing public awareness on road safety, and ultimately protecting precious lives.”

Adding to this, Parvinder Singh, Regional Director, ISWAI, said, “Chandigarh places a strong emphasis on road discipline, and our campaign aligns with the city’s efforts by using media to promote mindful drinking and reinforce that drinking and driving must never mix. The ‘Never Drink and Drive’ campaign seeks to educate citizens on the dangers of drunk driving, encourage responsible road behaviour, and underscore that driving under the influence is both illegal and life-threatening. ISWAI remains committed to strengthen public safety, particularly during the festive season when socialising is at its peak.”

To strengthen outreach, ISWAI is amplifying its messaging through radio partnerships with MyFM and Radio Mirchi during peak listening hours, particularly around Christmas and the year-end festive season. Dedicated radio spots, RJ mentions and a supporting digital campaign will reinforce the message of responsible celebration. ISWAI reiterates that no alcoholic beverage is ‘mild’ or safe for driving, stressing that road safety is a shared responsibility and urging citizens to never drink and drive.
