Whyte & Mackay-owned Jura Distillery has announced the launch of Jura 12 Year Old as an entry-level whisky in its age-stated range, replacing Jura 10 Year Old.
The move follows consumer taste tests which showed a stronger preference for the 12 Year Old, particularly among younger and more frequent whisky drinkers. Matured for 12 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez in Spain, Jura 12 Year Old is bottled at 40 percent ABV and offers aromas of dark chocolate, honey, walnut, and citrus, with flavours of coffee, salted bananas, liquorice, and brown sugar.
Alongside the release, Jura is introducing refreshed packaging across its range, featuring a taste scale to highlight three key flavours, a larger age statement, and an enhanced bottle silhouette.
Jura 12 Year Old will debut in the UK in October 2025, with a global rollout to follow. The updated packaging arrives in the UK in September, while the Islanders Series will launch in select travel retail outlets from October.
