JW Marriott Pune has launched the second phase of Project Pranita, its flagship initiative aimed at empowering underprivileged young women through education and hospitality training. Aligned with the government’s vision and Marriott International’s global Serve 360 commitment, the program focuses on education, empowerment, experience, and employment.

The initiative supports women aged 18–24 who have completed their 10th to 12th grade, providing them with a fully sponsored Bachelor of Arts in Tourism Studies from IGNOU alongside hands-on hospitality training. Candidates are identified through schools, NGOs, and skill development centers, followed by selection in collaboration with hotel leadership.

The three-year program integrates academics with practical work, offering mentoring, regular performance reviews, and remedial support. Scholars also receive subsidized accommodation, medical and life insurance, and skill development in communication, teamwork, and leadership, in line with the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).

In its second phase, JW Marriott Pune welcomed four scholars, Ashlesha Thakkar, Wilfortis Nongrum, Wandashisha Kharkongor, and Ibanphyrnai Suting, with starter kits to begin their journey.

“Project Pranita reflects our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young women,” said Amit Kumar, General Manager, JW Marriott Pune.

Across India, over 160 scholars are enrolled under the program, reinforcing Marriott’s mission to empower communities through sustainable initiatives.
