The liquor shop located in the arrivals section of Terminal 3 at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi, is reportedly facing multiple operational challenges, according to reports published in media. Issues include low sales, staffing problems due to restricted airport access, and stock shortages.

According to the report, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has flagged these concerns to the Delhi Consumer’s Co-operative Wholesale Store Limited (DCCWS), the agency operating the shop. In an official communication, airport authorities noted a decline in customer experience due to inadequate staffing and unresolved operational bottlenecks.

As reported by the media, sales data shows a drop from a daily average of ₹3.04 lakh in January to ₹2.20 lakh in May. The store had briefly peaked in March with ₹3.52 lakh in daily sales.

This shop, the only liquor outlet at Terminal 3, was reopened last year under the current excise regime—nearly two years after it was closed following probes into the now-defunct 2021–22 liquor policy. Its contract is set to expire on June 6.
