Madhu Mandapam at AAHAR 2025 concludes on a high note

New Delhi, March 10, 2025 – The debut edition of Madhu Mandapam at AAHAR 2025 marked a historic moment for India’s alcoholic beverage industry. Organised under the aegis of India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and in collaboration with FIFI, ICF and HPMF, this pioneering initiative transformed Hall No 1, First Floor at Bharat Mandapam into a vibrant hub of B2B meetings, consumer education, tastings, industry insights, and mixology innovations from March 4-8, 2025.

Lt. Col. Harsh Kondilya OSD (Admin), ITPO, highlighted the significance of AAHAR 2025, stating, “This fair has reached a level today where it is one of the leading B2B fairs in Asia. The name is taken along with all the leading food and beverages shows like Canton, Gulfood, and CIAL. This year, we have 1,700 plus participants, 22 international countries, and about 80 exhibitors participating. We’ve broken records (in terms of footfall). We’ve a lot of startups participating trying to sell their idea of business.”

Among the many firsts at AAHAR, Madhu Mandapam too registered its name as India’s first-ever dedicated platform for alcoholic beverages at the international food and hospitality fair. From exclusive masterclasses and high-energy cocktail competition to immersive tasting sessions and a grand Women’s Day celebration, Madhu Mandapam’s 1st edition successfully set the stage for India’s evolving alcobev landscape.

madhu mandapam inaugurationMadhu Mandapam kicked off with an electrifying opening led by Nilesh Patel, Managing Director of Carlsberg Group, in the presence of key industry leaders and professionals.  Danish Ambassador to India, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen and many other diplomats visited the venue and showed keen interest in different brands present there. The exhibition floor showcased leading domestic and international brands, including Diageo, Carlsberg, Allied Blenders & Distillers (ABD), Uppal Breweries & Distilleries (UBD), Alcobrew Distilleries, Mohan Meakin, Amrut Distilleries, India Glycols Ltd. and Rock and Storm Distilleries.

The third day of the event featured high-profile tasting sessions and industry-led masterclasses, drawing experts and connoisseurs alike.

Jointly organised by Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IICCI) and Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI), this session celebrated the growing Indo-Italian trade ties in the food and beverage sector. Fishing Cat Wine, a premium Italian label, stood out as a top choice among Indian consumers.

Godawan Single Malt Masterclass

Godawan Single Malt Masterclass:
Led by Akhilesh Sheoran, Brand Ambassador for Craft Spirits – Diageo India, this session delved into the unique Rajasthani heritage of Godawan Single Malt, which recently won Best Single Malt at the 2024 London Spirits Competition.

Madhu Mandapam Cocktail Challenge:
 Another major highlight of the event was the Madhu Mandapam Cocktail Challenge that took place on the fourth day of the event. It saw India’s young and budding bartenders competing to create the most innovative cocktails. Hosted by alcobev expert Sarang Kumar, the contest featured top brands like Golfer’s Shot Whisky, One More Vodka, Zumba Lemony Rum, Jamun Gin, and Old Monk Coffee Rum.

  1. Champion – Sagar Khuntia (₹30,000 prize)
  2. First Runner-up – Shivangi Pandey (₹20,000 prize)
  3. Second Runners-up – Anand Thapa and Akhil Paliwal (₹10,000 prize each)

Judged by ace mixologists Kama KM, Kuldeep Chauhan aka K.D. from the Bar Academy of Doon, and Bishan Kumar, Editor-in-Chief, Spiritz Magazine, the competition emphasised taste, balance, presentation, and innovation.

Women’s Day CelebrationWomen’s Day Celebration
Madhu Mandapam concluded on March 8 with a DIY Cocktail Session, celebrating women across all fields. Women professionals, including chefs, mixologists, and connoisseurs, took charge of the bar, crafting unique cocktails that blended creativity with bold flavours.

A large number of Industry leaders, Chefs, Mixologists and others, graced the occasion, recognising the rising influence of women in mixology and the beverage sector.
