Odisha to finalise 3-year excise policy next month
The Odisha government will unveil its new excise policy by June 20, Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan confirmed on Friday. Unlike previous annual policies, the new framework will be valid for three years and will be implemented in a phased manner.
The minister stated that multiple teams have been formed to study excise models from other states, and a delegation led by the Excise Secretary is set to visit Andhra Pradesh soon. “After the team's visit, the policy will most likely be announced between June 15 and June 20,” added Harichandan.
The state government's shift from an annual excise policy to a three-year framework aims to promote long-term planning and streamlined regulatory enforcement.
