Ospree Duty Free, in collaboration with Voiceback Analytics, has successfully completed India’s first AI-led, digital-only retail promotion at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The 24-hour promotion, conducted on May 29, eliminated all traditional discount signage and invited travellers to engage via a single QR code, unlocking personalised offers powered by Voiceback’s Dynamic Promotion Engine, hosted on Microsoft Azure.

By scanning the QR code and providing basic details, passengers received real-time, customised discounts based on behavioural data. The initiative aimed to bring e-commerce-style precision to airport retail and drew positive feedback for its seamless, clutter-free experience.

“This pilot was a test drive and quite a successful one,” said an Ospree Duty Free spokesperson. “It marks a new chapter in how we connect with travellers. As India’s first duty-free store to try something so novel, we see great potential in tech-led engagement that’s seamless, personalised, and built for the modern shopper.”

Sales performance held steady during the test, validating the effectiveness of personalised digital engagement. Ospree now plans to expand the model across more retail locations, reinforcing its position as a digital innovation leader in Indian duty-free.
