Bihar’s liquor ban remains in force, but smugglers continue to find creative ways to dodge the police. In a shocking discovery, authorities in Sasaram, Rohtas district, found a stash of liquor hidden inside a grave at the Alawal Khan mausoleum in Kadirganj.
Police were tipped off about suspicious nighttime activity near the cemetery, including strange noises around the tombs. Acting on this intel, a police team reached the spot, seeing whom the accused fled. The team then raided the site and found several sacks filled with more than 50 litres of country-made liquor hidden inside old graves.
This grim method of smuggling has left locals stunned, as the mafia appears to have no regard even for the resting places of the dead. Police have registered an FIR against unidentified people and assured of strict action soon while acknowledging that this unusual hiding tactic presents a new challenge in the ongoing battle against illegal liquor trade.
