Shelly Kohli promoted to Heineken’s Regional Legal Director

United Breweries Ltd’s (UBL) Legal Director, Shelly Kohli, has been promoted to a key global role at parent company Heineken NV, where she will serve as Regional Legal Director for Asia Pacific starting January 1, 2026.

Shelly, who has played a critical role in shaping UBL’s legal and compliance framework over the past three years, will now be relocating to Singapore for her new role, stated an official disclosure by UBL. In her place, Neha Munjral, currently also part of UBL’s legal team, will step in as Director – Legal, effective October 1, 2025.

A dual alumnus of the University of Mumbai and New York University School of Law, Shelly began her legal journey at Crawford Bayley & Co in 1998. Her career has spanned multiple top-tier law firms and global corporations, including stints at Wadia Ghandy & Co, Trilegal, and GE Energy Management, where she served as Senior Legal Counsel for South Asia.

She later held senior legal roles at CPA Global, Levi Strauss & Co., and Unilever, managing regional legal responsibilities across South Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.

Shelly joined UBL in 2022 as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. Her contributions during this period were pivotal in aligning UBL’s operations with Heineken’s global governance standards.

The leadership transition comes at a time when Heineken is strengthening its regional leadership teams across Asia Pacific to support strategic expansion and regulatory alignment in key markets.
