The art of Single Malt-making took centre stage at AAHAR 2025 as Diageo India hosted an exclusive Godawan Single Malt Masterclass on the third day of Madhu Mandapam. Led by seasoned mixologist and Godawan’s Brand Ambassador, Akhilesh Sheoran, the session proved to be an enlightening journey into the world of India’s finest single malt whisky.

Single Malt craftsmanship unveiled at Madhu Mandapam"What we’re tasting is an absolutely unique style of Single Malt," remarked Sheoran, as he guided attendees through an in-depth exploration of Godawan’s flavour profile, production process, and cultural significance. The Single Malt, named after the endangered Great Indian Bustard, is a symbol of heritage and craftsmanship, bringing Rajasthani traditions to the global stage.

Godawan has been making waves internationally, recently clinching the title of Best Single Malt at the 2024 London Spirits Competition. Its rich, complex character and distinctive Indian maturation process have set it apart from its counterparts, solidifying its position as a rising star in the global Single Malt landscape.

The masterclass attracted a diverse audience, including industry professionals, Single Malt connoisseurs, and curious enthusiasts on Thusday. An interactive tasting session allowed attendees to appreciate the nuances of Godawan, reinforcing the growing recognition of Indian Single Malt in the premium Single Malt category.
