Suntory Holdings has launched Water Scape Ltd., a company dedicated to supporting businesses and communities in ensuring secure and sustainable water supplies through scientific expertise. The venture, part of Suntory’s internal innovation programme Frontier Dojo, will begin operations this month.

Drawing from two decades of research at Suntory Global Innovation Center’s Institute for Water Science, Water Scape will offer services such as groundwater diagnostics, monitoring, and strategic planning to enhance water sustainability. While these services will initially target businesses struggling to secure groundwater, they will later expand to support local communities.

Water Scape builds upon Suntory’s extensive hydrological research, including its work at Suntory Natural Water Sanctuaries and the development of indicators to assess environmental impacts of water use based on regional scarcity. By visualising groundwater conditions using scientific evidence, the company aims to create tailored action plans that include investment strategies for long-term water security.

Masatoshi Kawasaki, President and Representative Director of Water Scape, stated, “Suntory Group is committed to sharing its water-related expertise to support businesses and communities, ensuring a harmonious coexistence between people and nature.”

With the establishment of Water Scape, Suntory reinforces its commitment to sustainability and the promotion of resilient local water cycles.
