The Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) successfully organised the India Skills Track–II Hospitality Competitions on 11 and 12 December at The Lalit Suri Hospitality School in Faridabad , Haryana bringing together emerging hospitality talent from across the country. The competitions covered five key trades—Cooking, Bakery, Patisserie & Confectionery, Hotel Reception, and Restaurant Service—and received over 6,000 registrations nationwide, with more than 60 candidates qualifying for the on-ground Track–II rounds.
Conducted in line with World Skills Standards Specifications, each trade comprised two modules with a total duration of four hours, during which participants showcased strong technical competence, creativity and professional discipline. Competitors travelled from diverse regions including Lucknow, Varanasi, Leh, Kashmir and Ahmedabad, underlining the national scale and inclusivity of the initiative.

Commenting on the competition, Rajan Bahadur, CEO, Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council, said, “THSC’s role under the India Skills initiative is to strengthen the hospitality and tourism skill ecosystem by identifying, assessing, and mentoring talent in line with global benchmarks. The performance of participants at the Track–II competitions reflects the growing quality and industry relevance of skill training in this sector.”

The competitions were evaluated by an expert jury drawn from the hospitality industry, who noted the high standards of performance and adherence to industry benchmarks. Winners from this stage will advance to the regional rounds of the India Skills Competitions, with successful finalists progressing towards representing India at the World Skills Competition 2026 in Shanghai, China.
