UBL resumes beer supply to Telangana

United Breweries Limited (UBL) has announced on Monday that it will resume the supply of beer to the Telangana Beverages Corporation Ltd. (TGBCL) with immediate effect.

In an exchange filing, UBL stated, “We have been in talks with TGBCL, and there have been constructive discussions. TGBCL has assured us of addressing our concerns regarding pricing and outstanding payments in a time-bound manner.” The company further clarified, “We have decided to restart supplies to TGBCL for the time being. This is an interim decision made in the interest of consumers, workers, and stakeholders.”

The Telangana government has reportedly assured UBL of a price hike decision, expected within the next 30 to 45 days. Regarding the outstanding dues, the report indicates that payments will be cleared in installments over the next 12-13 months.
