United Breweries Q1 profit rises 6 percent
United Breweries Ltd. (UBL) reported a 6 percent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit at ₹184 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. The growth was driven by an 11 percent rise in volumes and a robust 46 percent jump in premium beer sales. Net revenue grew 16 percent to ₹5,380.78 crore, supported by strong consumer demand, better price realisations, and a continued shift towards premiumisation.
UBL’s gross profit increased 14 percent, though margins narrowed slightly by 50 basis points to 42.5 percent. While operating profit (EBIT) rose 10 percent to ₹247.88 crore, even as the company ramped up investments in branding, organisational capabilities, and supply chain enhancements. Capital expenditure stood at ₹136 crore, nearly ₹89 crore higher than the previous year.
UBL credited its volume gains achieved despite election-related disruptions in the base quarter to estimated market share increases across overall and premium segments. Flagship brands such as Kingfisher Ultra, Amstel Grande, and Heineken Silver contributed significantly, with Amstel Grande launching in Karnataka during the quarter, following its debut in Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh.
