The West Bengal government is set to increase liquor prices across the state, with the revised rates taking effect from December 1, 2025. A recent notification issued by the Excise Department confirms a hike in additional excise duty on all liquor categories except beer.

Manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers have been instructed to clear existing stock at old prices by November 30, as no alcohol can be sold at pre-revised rates afterward.

According to the notification, the price of a 750 ml bottle of foreign liquor will increase by ₹30–40, while a 180 ml pack will cost ₹10 more. Country liquor will also see a rise of ₹10 per pack.

The revised rates will apply to all unsold stock after the deadline and all concerned stakeholders have been directed to complete registration and label changes before December 1.
